Is it possible to be too smart to be successful? A talented talk radio host was struggling for ratings and listener response. He is intelligent, well-prepared, and on topic. He presented his content with passion and constructed interesting narratives and colorful stories. This host did (almost) everything well, but was not succeeding.
But the audience didn’t respond. The phone didn’t ring and nobody texted. The problem is he was too smart, and the lesson he learned applies to podcasters, video streamers, comedians, pastors, public speakers, online publishers, and virtually all other forms of communication.
