One of the best ways for listeners to get closer to a radio personality is through telling personal stories. Getting a glimpse inside the lives of a favorite personality can help the audience develop a deeper bond, and that leads to a larger fan base.

But personal stories are tricky. Some air personalities find it hard to tell personal stories without sounding self-absorbed or egotistical. There’s a thin line between demonstrating charming, vulnerable character traits and coming off as if it’s “all about me”.
