Question for Ask The Experts:I’m in a creative rut and can’t figure out how to get out of it. The show is good, but every day feels like Groundhog Day. It’s the same things over and over, but the more I try to shake things up, the more I struggle. What can I do?
Answer: It’s great that you recognize that you are struggling. It’s a normal part of the creative process. Recognizing the rut matters. Creative fatigue is not a failure, it is part of the cycle. Almost everyone who produces daily content hits this wall.
Before trying to fix the show, step back and diagnose the real problem. Is the audience bored, or are you bored? Those are very different issues. Many personalities get tired of performing something that still works beautifully for listeners. Consistency is not the enemy of creativity. Boredom is just a warning light, not always a mandate to change.
