Ask The Experts Question: How To Overcome a Stuttering Problem

Question for Ask The Experts: I have an annoying habit that sometimes happens when on the radio. I tend to stutter on a syllable. Today it was hitting my “t” twice when saying the name of an artist. How can I fix this and overcome a stuttering problem?

Answer: Obviously, stuttering could be a problem, so I understand why you’re concerned. It’s not clear how serious the problem is or how often it occurs, and without a lot more information on the source (cause) of the problem, it’s not possible to give specific advice, but as long as it’s not severe, most personalities can overcome a stuttering problem through a combination of practice, targeted exercises, and confidence-building techniques. Here are some strategies and examples to help you.
