Some personalities are naturally good interviewers. Others are horrible. No matter how much they work at it, they don’t seem to get it right. A great interview happens when your guest opens up and reveals insight, but that doesn’t occur naturally. Few guests agree that an interview should be conducted in a vulnerable and open manner. The responsibility lies with the host conducting the interview to gain the guests ‘ trust to extract more emotional responses and new stories from guests.
