Keys to Interview Success

First, stop calling them interviews. The word conjures all kinds of negative thoughts. When personalities think they’re conducting an interview, they tend to go into journalist mode, grilling guests with a list of questions delivered one after another. Think of it as a conversation with an interesting guest. Your job is to find their stories and help tell them. Interview success depends on many factors, from preparation to performance to promotion. Think of the guest in the studio (or on the phone or Zoom) as a coffee date with a friend. Plan a conversation that will be intimate, insightful, and memorable.
