Every element on the air should be an opportunity to promote, position and entertain. Everything! It’s amazing how small tweaks in building more brand imaging into a radio show can increase the perception of more content. Don’t settle for simple IDs in recorded elements. Use those opportunities to inject personality in show imaging.
Adding entertainment value to recorded elements is a lot of work. The more creative a recorded element, the shorter the shelf life. And with most radio programming departments overworked and under-staffed, it’s easier to create generic content that can last a long time.
But while that may help get through the tasks on a to-do list each day, it’s not the best way to engage an audience. Fortunately, with planning and creativity, you can have personality in show imaging in just a few minutes each day.
