Interactivity is one of the most important aspects of any radio show. Even if the audience doesn’t actively participate, they should be engaged with personalities. But many radio stations and shows make it hard to play along.
Every personality that has ever solicited phone calls to play a contest or game on air understands there are two common problems:
- The quality of callers. Many (if not most) callers heard only, “Call now to win a prize”.
- The variety of callers. The same ones call over and over. They’re the prize pigs.
By the way, I love prize pigs. They’re the ones who respond to ratings services. But you can attract them while reeling in many others who would never call to play a game or contest.
