Most radio stations tend to take movie premieres for granted. The production company pays for a free screening and allows the station to fill the entire theater (or most of a theater) with their listeners before the movie is open to the public. This should be a big event.
But we treat it like it’s common and ordinary, probably because it doesn’t cost us anything.
But movie premieres can be a huge attraction for the audience if the station markets and promotes them with enthusiasm.
There are two key ingredients:
- Take a little time to prepare the promotion kit for the event.
- Promote and market the event on the air.
