Using a Smartphone as Broadcast Quality Microphone

If you’ve had an idea that involved capturing audio outside of a recording studio, you know how challenging it is. But capturing audio in the field is necessary from time to time. And it’s easier than ever because a smartphone can be a broadcast quality microphone.

Isn’t that better than lugging a ton of gear or spending a fortune on remote gear. This is especially important if the the audio will be used for imaging, production or station branding.

Previously, it would require lots of complicated, heavy audio equipment to capture great broadcast audio. Now it’s much more simple. The technology of today’s smart phones can get the job done, but only if you follow a few simple guidelines.
