If you’re a radio personality or podcaster, it’s clear that your audience is constantly in turbo drive. Picture a modern-day Flash zipping through the maze of content, dodging ads, and pausing only for that utterly irresistible content that stops them and commands attention. To catch this lightning-speed consumer, you’ve got to be just as dynamic. It’s the art of being efficient.
In performance, a great rule of thumb is always to hurry but never rush. Many personalities sacrifice a great segment to keep a talk break shorter. But length isn’t the issue. Efficiency is. Many 30-second talk breaks are 25 seconds too long, just as some seven-minute stories are not long enough! The goal should be to right-size the length by being tight, not short.
