Every performer has restrictions. Managers grant comedians a limited number of minutes to make the audience laugh, depending on the schedule and the ability of the performer. Directors and producers edit scripts and scenes from plays and movies to prevent audience boredom. Music producers edit verses from songs to increase the single’s appeal. Podcasters have learned that, in most cases, shorter, concise episodes perform better than long ones. Radio personalities have restrictions, too. Programmers frustrate many personalities by defining the maximum length of an acceptable talk segment. Radio restrictions are real, but the format clock is no excuse for wasting opportunities to entertain the audience. You have to adjust.
Don’t let barriers hinder advancing along the Personality Success Path, the natural and necessary process for building relationships with listeners.
