Phone Calls

Get More Calls: Emphasize Callers, Not Texts

One of the ways to get more callers is simply putting more callers on the air to demonstrate how you prefer the audience to participate. However, a good strategy for caller participation doesn’t end there. Many shows find reading text messages or comments from social media easier, but it’s not nearly as interesting. Yes, humans prefer to text. It’s easier and faster, but it’s also boring. Reading thoughts and opinions sounds flat, monotonous, and one-dimensional. A phone call is an interaction that is alive and immediate. It adds life to a segment and gives the personalities something to respond to. Reading texts creates a bigger problem because you subtly train the audience how you want them to respond. This makes the situation worse. If you want to sound more exciting, emphasize callers, not texts.
