Feature Strategy and Execution

Programming Theory: Subraction Bias

You’ve probably heard that every product is improved when the brand’s focus is sharpest. Software suffers from feature creep. Restaurants try to increase their customer base by adding more menu items. Theme parks cram more things to do into the same space. Radio stations have a great new idea, so they add it! Soon, the station is cluttered and sounds like the audio version of a hoarder’s garage. Focus is diluted, and nothing stands out. The scientific condition is called Subtraction Bias, and it is a problem for radio stations.
